District Funding

How the District Gets Funded

The Flood Control Zone District (FCZD) is a special purpose junior taxing district. Funding for the FCZD comes from a county-wide property levy of approximately $.10 per $1,000 assessed value in 2023. The levy will raise approximately $19.1 million in 2023. Many flood projects will also rely on state and federal funding for completion.

The Flood Control Zone District’s budget covers funding for capital projects, maintenance of levees and other existing flood related infrastructure, the Opportunity Fund for local projects, as well as the district’s administrative costs.
